Legal fees

Both the buyer and the seller are responsible for 2.5% legal fees on the sale of property.

Government Stamp Tax

• Up to and including $20,000 – 2%
• From $20,000.01 to #50,000 – 4%
• From $50,000.01 to $100,000 – 6%
• From $100,000.01 to $250,000 – 8%
• From $250,000.01 and over – 10%

This tax is shared equally between the buyer and seller unless otherwise agreed upon.

In the Bahamas when purchasing property whether a foreign national or Bahamian you must use a licensed Bahamian attorney.
